He makes the argument that we as humans only choose to do the risky and crazy things to feel as sense of satisfaction but never receive it because we do it in the lens of wanting others to see and no. If not done for other it is left dull because these were not a determining factor of happiness. happiness is not a list you can check off

He makes the argument in way where he describes the human race as homo economist because we are a working species, he critiques the need to work our lives off. While also emphasizing that this stems from human nature who have craved more because nothing felt like enough. This stagnant feeling of dissatisfaction is connected to our own self objectification because we naturally want to think and perform in this manner.

I personally agree with his point on the idea that we develop these social standard and unrealistic ideals as a way to make us feel a sense of satisfaction. We try to live up to beauty, and class standards but once we reach it there isn't anything left. I specifically voiced my opinion on this because I grew up in a immigrant household. I came from less, and have and still believe that once I receive more I will be happy, but in that extent I don't believe I will because humans are by nature greedy. When I seen him mention self objectification it made me think of beauty influencers who lose weight but still share how they once believed it would fix all their issues but it didn't because humans can not find a sense of peace in what they have. They can not appreciate the small things.
