This relates to this lesson because we discuss government within our state, which resembles the government of the United States and also is a democracy. It would be beneficial and interesting for students to read this article and compare a monarchy to the government that they reside in, and decide which one they would rather live in.

Talk about Mexico’s production of Avocados- Avocados need warm weather to grow and lots of rainfall (Mexico is located near the equator where it's warm). Based on where a place is, different resources will thrive.

These resources could be physical like water, oil or gold. Or they could be ideological resources that don’t exist in the physical world, but are just as important. Belief. Loyalty. The respect of the people. This is happening in Whales. They flooded an area to create a reservoir for a surrounding area creating conflict and a fight over water. This relates to the lesson because we are learning about resources and this shows how resources are sometimes a hot topic and are used in conflict.
