As a result molten rock is released from the earths magma chamber and spewed out of the earths surface. It is not only boiling hot rock that emerges from the middle of the earth, there is also a hot flow of mud, gas and vapor that rushes out of the now hollow hole and destroys anything within a one or more kilometer distance.
