Boomerangs can be developed in many different ways not only the curving way. The boomerangs returning are thought to have evolved as a special form, used for scaring birds into hunters nets. When the first boomerang came back it was actually an accident, someone who is unknown, was carving the wooden weapon into the right way and the perfect shape in need to spin and comeback.

The first boomerang that was described and recorded as a boomerang was back in 1822. the first boomerang out of Australia was in Poland 20,000 years ago but some aboriginal people say and some dream time stories show that the very first boomerang was invented between 28 000 to 50 000 years ago. Although they don't know how this boomerang was dated, which from my point of view, I am positive that scientist used Radiocarbon dating to date the time of boomerangs.

Were the boomerangs just used for hunting?

These beautiful boomerangs weren’t just used to hit animals and for culture paintings, they were used to hunt in many different ways. Some boomerangs were built to circle an animal usually a bird. This meant that the Aboriginal hunters could get close to some birds, then throw the boomerang high in the air where it would circle the bird multiple times. The hunters would then mimic the sound of a bird of bird, which would fool the birds into thinking they were under attack from a predator. They would then flock together and fly low towards the people who could then attack them.
