They were sleeping on top of each other, also their homes were very unstable at the time so their homes were dangerous. They had very little living space and most of the families had more than 5 people living with them at a time. 
¨families were usually charged 5 shillings per month for rent.  This did not usually leave much left over for food, clothes and luxury items.  As a result, they often struggled to cover their cost of living and had to also endure difficult living conditions. ¨

People had very long working hours with no breaks. They also had very limited light in these factories. Children were made to work in these very hard and dangerous factories also. Photos of these children working helped stop child labor all and all because of the fact that the pictures were so horrifying.

This happened so that it made life easier for the people. In the factories while working they ran off of daylight, so making the light bulb they did not have to use daylight to work. They made airplanes and cars more for the wealthier side, so that it was easier for people to get around and also helped out the community.
