Third, let’s explore architecture in ancient Greece. The hot and dry summers and mild winters impacted the use of materials such as limestone and marbles which could resist the hard climate condition. The Greeks also made their cities on hillsides, so that they could take advantage of the cool breezes and developed cramp streets to block up the sunlight. In addition, they developed an excellent style of construction known as ‘entasis’ in which columns were tapered to counteract the illusion treated by the sun rays. After a year of research, the Federation of American Scientists concluded that video games could change education. The scientists say that games teach skills that companies want employees to have.Which skills? Game playing involves reasoning, team building, and solving problems under pressure. The scientists believe that games are the perfect teaching tools. Why? Kids already love them.

The federation says that most of today's games would not work as educational tools. Instead, game companies would need to design different types of games. The federation is urging the government to do research into how to create these games. The research would involve finding out which parts of video games are most important for learning.

Game companies would like to create educational video games. Doug Lowenstein is president of a group that represents video game companies. Lowenstein points out that there will soon be 75 million Americans between the ages of 10 and 30. These people grew up playing video games. In fact, more than 45 million homes have video game systems.

"We would be crazy not to seek ways to [use] . . . games to teach our children," Lowenstein said. Most kids do not buy educational games, however. That's why game companies plan to market these new games directly to schools.

What would schools and teachers think about educational video games? Don Blake works for a group that represents teachers. Blake agrees that video games could be great learning tools. Still, he points out that schools might not be willing to buy the games. Why not? Schools officials might not want to spend money on something that is usually considered entertainment. Even if they buy the games, school officials would still have to train teachers. Officials might not want to spend time training teachers on how to use something that is untested.

Blake says scientists still have work to do. It won't be easy to convince schools that video games can help kids. Teachers, he said, need to see games as a way to help students learn, not as a threat to education.

First of all, I agree that Hector is brave even though he cannot really win since Achilles is strong. Furthermore, I like that Hector tried to win the fight against Achilles rather than giving up. Another reason that Hector is brave is that he also joined the Trojan War, although he is not the most professional at fighting. Therefore, I believe that Hector is courageous.

In addition, I disagree with Achilles because he is a foul person. First and foremost, he killed Hector and also dragged his body around the city three times. Bodies should be treated well and also buried in a funeral ceremony. If I were living in that time, I would kill him with a shotgun because the act Achilles committed was evil. Hence, because of Achilles' actions, I perceive that Achilles is disrespectful.

Moreover, I believe that Ajax deserved to take his own life since Achilles lost ownership of the armor. The armor does not really belong to Ajax and instead it should be possessed by Achilles' wife or children. Armor was valuable during that time because it was used for protection against spears and swords. Achilles' wife and children would have appreciated having possession of the armor in remembrance of their family member. Thus, Achilles is too envious. 

 

Hopefully, you have learned a bit about the Trojan War. Hector is fearless because of his heroic actions, Achilles is  unkind because of the way he treats others, and Ajax is greedy because he is eager for the armor, however these are my opinions. The new eye-tracking technology was developed by Fove. The company has offices in Japan and the United States.The technology works through the use of a large headset with goggles. Inside the goggles is a computer screen. There are also tiny sensors that track the movements of the wearer's pupils as he or she looks at the screen.

VR delivers a 360-degree, computer-generated, fictional universe. It makes it seem like the person is actually there.When a user lifts his or her hand, for example, the character displayed on the computer screen lifts its hand. Fove's eye-tracking technology is designed to make VR even better. It reacts to where the user is looking.

"It allows you to go inside the world that's behind the display," said Fove co-creator Yuka Kojima.

VR could change entertainment. It could be used in movies, video games, and live-streaming of sports. The technology also has many possible business uses. It could give apartment hunters a virtual look at real estate options. It could allow car buyers to tour virtual showrooms. In addition, the technology could prove useful for training pilots and doctors. It would let them attempt risky moves without putting people in danger.

Not everyone likes the idea of VR technology. Some people worry that it could harm a person's health. There have been reports of people feeling sick after wearing VR headsets. Doctors have also voiced concerns about people looking at screens that are so close to their eyes.

In addition, some people worry that VR fans will become too involved in their fantasy environments. They might become detached from real life. They might miss school or work.

But Fove developers argue that VR can do good things for people. They point to possible uses of the eye-tracking technology to make their point.

In one demonstration, Fove shows a grandmother using the eye-tracking headset to "attend" her grandson's wedding. She's unable to be at the event in person. But she sends a robot controlled by her eyes in her place. The woman happily reaches out as if the couple is standing before her.

The technology could also help people with disabilities. They could use their eyes to control devices they wouldn't otherwise be able to. As an example, a man who couldn't move his arms or fingers used eye movements to play a piano.

"We want to do things with VR that people haven't thought about or have thought to be impossible," said Lochlainn Wilson. Wilson helped start Fove.

VR is likely to become more widespread. It seems only a matter of time until the eye-tracking technology is part of it. In 2016, Fove had plans to produce 1,200 headset kits. Kojima said the company might make as many as a million headsets. Fove was offering to sell the technology to other companies.Meanwhile, Facebook's Oculus and the U.S.-based Eyefluence Inc. were also developing eye-tracking technology for VR.

Be warned, though. It wasn't exactly something you'd want to sink your spoon into.
