I am also working towards my Master's in Education. I am a 28 year old substitute teacher in the PYLUSD and I currently coach high school football and track. I chose to become a teacher as a career to help kids. I want to help kids learn and understand the importance of physical fitness at a young age. Our physical health is overlooked and not taken serious enough in my opinion so I want to be the change to help young kids live a better and healthier lifestyle. I took the Teaching and Learning Styles assessment and my results were actually a bit surprising to me. My assessment was fairly lopsided to the left with the big one being all sensitive and no intuitive. My learning style seems like it would affect my teaching and students abilities to be successful because I prefer more facts and concrete data as opposed to being intuitive and discovering new things. I know that my classes will be about half and half of sensory and intuitive students so I need to make sure I am not biased in my teaching so that I can get through to all of my students and make sure that they learn to the best of their ability. I will use the information I got from this assessment to make sure that I stay balanced in my teaching for all types of learners and not just lean on my preferences. I plan to use these tools to teach my students about physical education and help shape them to be the best versions of themselves.
