Sap to Maple Syrup

Sap is odorless when it first comes out of trees. It is only 2% sucrose at first and to make it into sweet maple syrup, you have to make that percentage higher and the percentage of water lower. This is done through heat-an evaporator. The sap then has a sweet smell. This is a chemical reaction because the aroma changes along with its chemical makeup-percentage of what's in it.

The oxygen goes into the methylene when you shake it causing it to oxidize. When you stop shaking, the oxygen leaves the methylene causing it to change back to not having a color. This is a chemical change because the oxygen atoms and methylene atoms bond causing a new color.
