         <title>Difference between next hop and exit interface</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Exit interface is better.&nbsp;</p><p>If using next hop IP, when the router receive an incoming packet:</p><p>1. Check the destination IP</p><p>2. Look up the routing table and found the static route</p><p>3. Know the next hop IP</p><p>4. Look up the routing table AGAIN to find the exit interface for that next hop IP</p><p>5. Sent the packet out of the exit interface.</p><p>If using exit interface, router can skip Step 4 - save 1 additional lookup for every packet = router can run faster :)</p><p> - Mr Lau</p>]]></description>
