In 1978, she helped to discover how bacterial cells could be utilized to generate insulin through research;

The third Mexican-American woman in the United States to receive a doctorate degree in the sciences, she stands on a high perch;

She contributed to research on the degeneration of brain cells in Alzheimer’s, leading to a whole new field;

Not only was she a scientific woman, but she some racial issues she healed;

Komaroff co-founded SACNAS, The Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science;

A force to be reckoned with she was with her defiance;

But first, how did she get here?

Inspired by her chemist uncle and the love for nature her grandmother and mother held, it was because of the people she held dear;

 University of Washington in Seattle, Goucher College in Maryland, MIT, Harvard, Northwestern she conquered them all;

She worked with Nobel laureates and labs to rise up, never facing her downfall;

Over years, she compiled awards for her work and positions for her expertise

For her it was all a breeze;

Even now she holds many important positions like a queen with a diadem;

Born into wealth with rich parents that died very early so he had to mourn.

His uncle became a big part of his life, influencing many of his political stances;

Bolivar met and discussed with many new thinkers, with lots of different chances.

His views shifted and he was set on a revolution,

Bolivar had decided that it was the solution;

So he fought and rose to become president

Social reforms and democracy would be his event.

He molded South America into a new place,

Creating government methods that are still used today with grace.

By creating two political treatises and rebelling,

Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia are now swelling.
