Introduced to Florida in the 1930s, when a river boat captain traveling along the Silver River released 6 monkeys onto an island. This action was supposed to increase tourist attraction.

Since then, the monkeys began to thrive in the land, trees, and water of Silver Spring State Park.

Varying appetite, ranging from plants to eggs- even the eggs of native species.

Destruction of vegetation- mangroves, which prevent shoreline erosion and provide wildlife habitat.

They first invaded Silver Springs State Park in Florida during the 1930’s

They were put in to promote tourism.

The main predator’s for the Rhesus Macaque in mainland Asia are big birds such as eagles and hawks, leopards, and pythons

The Rhesus Macaque usually feed on roots, seeds, bark, and some small animals like insect

We think this because it is appealing to the general public and to hunters

When the animal is turned in, it could be sent back to where it came from or donated to science.
