Reason for the War:
 The war started because of the abduction/elopement of of Queen Helen of Sparta by the Trojan Prince Paris. Helen’s jilted husband Menelaus convinced his brother to lead an expedition to retrieve her. Menelaus, Achilles, Odysseus, Nestor, and many allies laid siege on Troy and demanded Helen’s return.

Major Parties Involved:
The early Greeks and the people of Troy is western Anatolia

The Trojan Horse Explained:
The Trojan Horse was a huge, hollow wooden horse constructed by the Greeks as a ploy to gain entrance into Troy during the Trojan war. The bravest and most skillful of the Greek warriors present at Troy hid in the wooden horse fully armed. The Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy, and that night the Greeks inside of the horse crept out and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army. This allowed the Greeks to enter and destroy the city of Troy, ending the war.

Outcome of the War:
The Greeks won the war because of the Trojan Horse, which allowed the Greek army to infiltrate the city of Troy.

Great Heroes of the War:
The Greek heroes Achilles, Odysseus, Nestor, Ajax, and Agamemnon, as well as Hector and Paris.
