The John Harvard statue is the most popular landmark in Harvard University. The reason its the most popular landmark is because of the three lies of the john Harvard statue. The first lie is the the statue itself cause there are no actual images of John Harvard therefore his true identity is a mystery. The second lie states that John Harvard was the founder of Harvard College when in reality he was a benefactor. The final lie states that Harvard was founded in 1638 when it was actually founded in 1636. The Statue is located in front of University Hall which houses the Professors of Arts and Sciences.

The Widener Library is the largest university library in the world holding 17 million books. The library was named after Harry Elkins Widener, Class of 1907, a collector of rare books. After an overseas trip in 1912 to purchase more volumes, Harry and his parents decided to return home on the Titanic. The disaster claimed both Harry and his father lives. Mrs. Widener survived and honored her son's memory by funding this library in his name. Under the rotunda is a breath taking chamber dedicated to Harry. It contains all 3,300 volumes of his priceless book collection, including a Gutenberg Bible, one of only 14 in existence.
