In this presentation, my task is to explain the adab towards parents. Adab with parents means showing good manners, respect, and kindness to them in every situation. It includes obeying them as long as it does not go against Islamic teachings, speaking gently, helping them in daily tasks, and always making du‘a for their well-being.

Actually, the manners with parents can be explained in many different ways. But I chose this point because it is the most basic and practical example of adab in our daily life. Before we go deeper into adab with teachers, friends, or society, we must first understand the importance of adab with parents as they are the closest to us and their rights are among the greatest after Allah. This gives us a strong foundation to appreciate and practice other types of adab.

In verses 41–45 of Surah Maryam, Allah relates the story of Prophet Ibrahim, who was described as a man of truth and a Prophet. He gently advised his father not to worship idols that can neither hear, see, nor bring any benefit. Ibrahim explained that Allah had granted him knowledge which his father did not possess, and invited him to follow the straight path. He further warned his father not to obey Satan, who is disobedient to the Most Merciful, and expressed his fear that his father might face Allah’s punishment and become a companion of Satan in the Hereafter.

The group discussion gave me a chance to share my thoughts openly, and I truly appreciate how the members explained things clearly and created a friendly atmosphere. My feedback is that the session was very beneficial, but it could be even better if more interactive activities or Q&A sessions were included to make it more engaging.

WISH :

I hope that this usrah will continue to be a safe and meaningful space for us to remind one another, improve ourselves, and grow closer to Allah. May the sisterhood we build remain sincere, supportive, and help us stay consistent in doing good even outside of usrah.

REFLECTION :

Usrah has been a space for me to evaluate myself, improve my weaknesses, and strengthen my relationship with Allah. Through sharing and reminders with others, I realize that everyone is on their own journey of growth. Usrah motivates me to stay consistent, support one another through prayers, and continue striving to become a better person.
