Teachers can use the visual of puzzle pieces to teach morphemes with examples on an anchor chart. For practice opportunities, a morpheme and its meaning could be included on a puzzle piece (prefixes, roots/bases, and suffixes) for the students to build words and then give the meaning. For example, a student could use in- (not), aud (to hear), and -ible (can be) to build inaudible (you can not hear it).

Use examples and non-examples as needed for student understanding. Be sure all team members are on the same page. Create non-negotiables that teachers need to take away to carry-out the plans for the week.
