1. What steps were taken to tighten up discipline at work?

They made strict rules and punishments for workers who failed to do their job perfectly. Punishments included imprisonment for 10 years or execution.
2. Do you think the punishments fit the crimes?
No, the "crimes" included disorganization of production, deserting, leaving jobs without notice, changing jobs more than once in 12 months, breaching labor discipline. The punishments were severe, the trials were unfair, and the number of "crimes" most likely increased as a result of the situation.

Questions to answer:

What methods were used to make laborers work harder? - Efficiency devices to allow for more productive work without having to make corrections.

Would any of these incentives work today? Yes in older factories but in todays factories there are machines that allow for a majority of the work to be done without a lot of human effort.

Do you think these workers were treated in line with the ideals of the 1917 revolution? No because they had to go through daily labor and workers were pitted against each other in attempt to make the workforce more competitive.
