We learn that he is a very curious person in the first few sentences, For Example, it says, "... he would pester the graveyard folk with questions. ' Why amn't I allowed of the graveyard?' he would ask, or 'How do I do what he just did?' or 'Who lives in here? (Gaiman 35-37)" Also, he would adventure into unknown parts of the graveyard just to see what or who was in there. We know this because whenever we see her, she is always trying to make friends and play with them, even when she doesn't know them. For Example, in Chapter 2, when She first meets Bod, Bod initially insists that he is a stranger, but Scarlett wanted to play with him. The Owens could have just brought the baby to the police station or something, but they recognized that for some reason, the Parents wanted to hide and keep the Baby (Bod) safe. Later they realized that Bod would be in danger unless he stayed in the Graveyard.
