My username for the OASIS, represents two things in my real life that I really appreciate a lot and that I care a lot about. The Carolina Panthers are my favorite NFL football team, represented in the name Panther_man59. The number 59 is my football # and I love playing football, and to represent that I put my favorite football team and my football number. If people ask me what it means in the OASIS what it means, I won’t hesitate at all to explain because it is the truth and I wouldn’t want to lie to people online and the ones I meet in the OASIS. Being truthful and expressing who you are is something I truly believe in. Doing this and including things that matter to me in my username for the OASIS makes me feel better and more truthful to others online. It also may allow me to meet people that have the same feelings and likes and dislikes, like for example the Panthers and maybe love for football that we can connect on, if we ever held a conversation about it.

Question to Halliday

Hi Mr. Halliday, I have a question for you about the OASIS, and it’s many mysteries. What was the reason for making the challenges and missions so difficult and hard for players. Was the reason for this, to make it impossible for players to succeed, I don’t understand it. My other friend from the OASIS thinks you don’t make it impossible but you make it in a way so that only true fans and ones that will put work in to get what they want can succeed and find the prizes. One last question, how do I become a player that can compete with all th others even though I do not have as many weapons or trinkets as other players. Please explain Thank You

I have a question to all at IOI, what is the point of doing what you do. This game was created to be enjoyed, you are taking advantage of the opportunities in it and making it a game that is corrupt and filled with people not seeking an escape or enjoyment but exploitation. You see this as a profit possibility. You make me not want to play this wonderful game anymore.

“You know you've totally screwed up your life when […] the only person you have to talk to is your system agent software“(Cline 651)

Even Wade knows he is a loser or he has done something wrong in life when he has no real life friends other than a system built for one job and that job is to keep him company. He acknowledges that he has screwed up in life and understands that he has made mistakes. The mysterious thing is that he continues to go on the OASIS for the majority of his life. It is ruining him mentally and socially.
