USRAH WEEK 1 : ADAB IN SEEKING KNOWLEDGE & AL-QURAN AS THE GUIDANCE

ADAB IN SEEKING KNOWLEDGE

The Prophet Muhammad SAW said:

طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيْضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ وَ مُسْلِمَةٍ

" Seeking knowledge is obligatory on every muslim "

In Islam, it is taught how to behave in a person when studying so that the knowledge they are studying can bring many blessings and benefits to life. As the words of Faith Malik to the Qurasyh are as follows:

تَعَلَّمُ الْأَدَابِ قَبْلَ اَنْ تُعَلِّمُ الْعِلْمِ

" Learn etiquette before studying a science "

The following are the manners of seeking knowledge:

✿ Intention lillahita'ala

As the Prophet Muhammad SAW reminded us

Everything must first be with intention, as well as seeking knowledge, when we want to study our main intention must be because of Allah. Good intentions determine the success of a Muslim in studying.

✿ Always pray in studying

Like the Prophet Muhammad who always prayed in seeking knowledge, as follows:

اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِيْ وَعَلِّمْتَنِيْ وَعَلِّمْنِيْ مَا يَنْفَعُنِيْ وَزِدْنِيْ عِلْمًا

" O Allah, benefit from what You taught me, teach me things that benefit me, and increase my knowledge. "

✿ Be serious in studying

When studying, we should be serious and always enthusiastic to get useful knowledge. Seek knowledge as if you are never full with the knowledge you get, we should always want to increase our knowledge.

✿ Stay away from immorality

In order for us to get knowledge that is useful and full of blessings, then we must stay away from immorality, because immorality will make it difficult for the brain to concentrate so that the knowledge we catch will be difficult to understand.

✿ Do not arrogant when studying

If we want to get useful knowledge, it would be nice if we have to stay humble. Do not feel arrogant when we satisfied with the knowledge we have, as Imam Mujahid said bellow:

لَا يَتَلَّمُ الْعِلْمَ مُسْتَحْىٍ وَلَا مُسْتَكْبِرٌ

" Two people do not learn knowldge: a shy person and an arrogant person " (Narrated by Bukhari)

AL-QURAN AS THE GUIDANCE

☆ Al-Quran and Sunnah both are the reference for everything in this world.

☆ Even when you feel happy, sad, anxious or just anything refer back to Al-Quran and you"ll get the anwer.

✩‧₊˚౨ SUMMARY ₊ৎ˚₊✩‧₊

Usrah week one was very exciting. From there, I got to know a new friends that very humble and friendly. We also had a sharing session. Next we get to talk about adab in seeking knowledge where I could listen others opinion, stories and experiences related to adab in seeking knowledge. Alhamdulillah I gain more knowledge during the first usrah session. For me, Usrah is indeed programme because it can make ourself to keep close to Allah.
