The balloon-headed person floated everywhere and belonged nowhere. At the same time, the glove-headed person belonged everywhere and never chose. They met by accident. The balloon drifted too low, so the glove managed to reach up.

“Stay” the glove said. The balloon didn’t mind, he stayed.

They walked together slowly for a long time. The balloon didn’t rise as much as he used to. The glove didn’t feel so empty anymore. Sometimes the string slipped or the fingers trembled, but they always stayed together, because they kept trying. People passed without even noticing something strange. During the night, the balloon rested against the glove’s palm. The balloon learned that love can be gentle.

Nether of them became normal, they just became less alone. Because they had each other.

She didn’t understand why her mother was saying goodbye. Wasn’t love supposed to be everlasting? For years now Agape’s family had been holding on to one another and keeping each other safe, but ever since her father died, nothing had been the same.

They had been cursed with the greatest gift of all - love so unconditional it physically kept them tethered to the ground. Agape’s father had angered Hestia, the goddess of the hearth and home, and that’s why they were punished.

While Agape now knew how this story would end, she was determined to break the cycle of their suffering. As her mother‘s wings spread and she began to ascend, the little girl broke free from the chains of her own destiny and left this world where love meant pain and sacrifice, beneath her.

From the grass appears Irina - a beautiful creature with a human face. She lives hidden in the wetlands and protects the land. She is curious about Igaru but is scared of unknown beings.

At that moment they both look at each other. Igaru feels nervous but is hopeful that someone could accept him the way he is. After all sunflowers grow in the same soil. Our life is a uniform cycle. Wake up. Eat. Fall back to sleep. It was yet another night - everyone was asleep. I felt a light on my petals, and thinking it was the sun, I faced towards it. Instead it was something I hadn't seen before and it was beautiful.

Another night passed by and then another and another. The night had become my day and the day - my night. The moon was now my sun. And my slow peril.

Simon arrived in the city the way he had arrived on every other planet, quietly, pretending to belong. He lived in a narrow apartment above a corner restaurant, the kind with red and white checkered tablecloths and the smell of garlic drifting up through the floorboards. Each night, after carefully sealing the samples in his lab and making sure the faint green glow of his equipment stayed hidden, he returned home to watch people from the window. Connection was what he feared the most. On his world, if it still existed, explorers were trained not to bond with the civilizations they studied. One day, the restaurant owner insisted he join a small outdoor dinner. Reluctantly, Simon sat at a table where a young illustrator named Leah had also been persuaded to stay. She smiled shyly. And in that moment, he realized what it is to be human, he felt humanity through his skin. He fell in love, looking at Leah and her magnificent painting of a fantastic pasta with a piece of magic in it.

An unusual love story

A long time ago, an accident happened in our small town called Accident. Something strange occurred and we weren't prepared for this.

My younger brother Daniel was the victim of this strange event but somehow he managed to escape.

My brother told me the story of a strange creature appearing out of nowhere. He said that it has a magical horse which was covered in blue dots and could speak fluent English. Daniel thought it was a dream, but he couldn't wake up. At that time, my brother was only seventeen years old but somehow that specific creature helped him to find love. Now I will let my brother continue the story, because I wasut even there to tell you everything.

While I was running back home I heard a strange noise coming from the woods. I decided to go and see what was happening. I found a strange talking horse which promised to help me find true love. I didn't believe my eyes. He asked me to do a favour for him first. He wanted me to turn my back to my family and run away with him to a magical land where I could find my soulmate. Of course I didn't want to just abandon my family and go to a strange place but I really wanted to find love.

I said I wouldn't go with him until he brought the girl ot my dreams here. Finally, the horse agreed but the girl that appeared in front of me wasn't just magical, she was a real princess. I was amazed by her beauty. I felt strong emotions towards her and didn't think at this moment.

Then all of a sudden everything magical disappeared and I came home disappointed. I have learned that family is more important than love.

The love of the machine - Martina and Valentin 12d

Once upon a time, there was a strange machine - man who lived alone in a quiet workshop. He was made of metal and gears, and his heart worked like a clock. Every day he fixed machines, but he felt empty inside.

One night, he went outside and saw a magical creature in the forest. It looked like a soft animal, with long fur and shining eyes. A small green snake followed it. The creature was sitting and was just looking at the machine man. And then the lonely man started to feel something strange, something different. Inside him was something that had never been there before - a soul.

When the man went back, he just closed himself and started thinking about yourself. Now it was a new life for him.

One day, he went outside. While he was walking and just smiling, he saw a beautiful woman who was reading a book in the park. In the machine man’s eyes she looked like a sun, like the most kindness person, like someone with the clearest soul. Then, he decided to sit next to her. She had no problem with that. They started a strange conversation, like they would know, each other for years. Both of them were feeling like soulmates.

They started going outside together everyday. Their time was so good for them, they felt extremely good.

I’ve always been a workaholic and since the ending of my last relationship I haven’t found the time and desire to open my heart towards anybody. It was a very passionate and real love, but it ended because she moved to a different country and our paths separated. She had platinum blonde hair, green eyes, full red lips and the most kind, caring and beautiful soul I’ve ever came across. I feel like my life is falling apart and my biggest dream is to meet the love of my life and live life to the fullest.

I was leaving work after a long day accounting and decided to make myself a really nice dinner so I went to the local supermarket to but the ingredients that I needed. As I was heading in, I stumbled across a familiar face - my last biggest love - Angelica. I froze. She turned around as her beautiful voice said my name. “Luke! It’s been ages since we last talked!” She smiled so dearly. I couldn’t believe that I was seeing her again. “Hey, Angelica! How has life been?” I said nervously. “Let’s go get dinner and talk about it all, what do you think?” Said Angelica. I was so excited, I immediately said yes, forgot about the shopping and together we went to the nearby restaurant to catch up.

We talked for hours, we had a lot of fun and I decided to tell her the truth - to confess my love for her that had never left me. I explained everything, that my life hadn’t been the same since she left and that I never stopped loving her, nor have loved anybody else. She was stunned, eyes wide open, I was afraid that she didn’t love me back, but in my surprise she made an even bigger love confession to me.

My life has never been better, I’ve never been happier and my life now has a meaning. She saved me.

The egg on the tallest building in the town had just hatched. A small and cute pigeon boy rose from the eggshells, already with a goal in mind. It wanted to grow up and find a partner.

When the boy grew up - now a pigeon man - he was desired by many of the town's bird women. But he took no interest in them. They all seemed the same. So he decided to take a fly far away to find a partner.

When he was flying across the ocean he saw a very beautiful octopus woman. He liked her a lot but he thought she wouldn't like him back because he was a bird, so he decided to change.

He clipped his wings and put on a fish tail. Then he had the courage to approach her and that is how the love between them was born.

They became loyal partners but the pigeon man was still keeping a secret.

Then one day... he couldn't hold it in any longer. He told her the truth. She listened to him, then chuckled and told him that he didn't have to change. That she'd love him in any shape or form.

Ships depended on him. Stars watched him. Still, he wondered what it might feel like to be seen by someone who didn’t need saving.

Far away, in a honey-colored room filled with floating fish and quiet magic, lived a stilted giraffe who had never seen the ocean. She spent her evenings staring at a framed painting of turquoise waves, certain the water moved when no one watched.

“I think someone lives out there,” she whispered each night.

One stormy evening, the lighthouse’s beam stretched farther than ever before. The wind bent it through a tiny crack between worlds, and warm light spilled from the frame onto the giraffe’s face.

For the first time, someone looked back.

Night after night, the storms returned just long enough for their worlds to touch.

On a quiet stage, under a golden spotlight, stood a lonely egg.

It was too afraid to crack. Too afraid to become something new. It was scared to change, especially with no one by it's side.

Far away, in the middle of a wild sea, a white bird stood on a twisted tree and played a golden trumpet into the storm. The waves were loud, but the bird played louder.

The music travelled across the ocean… into the theatre… into the egg’s tiny heart.

Crack.

A small piece fell.

The egg realized something - the storm wasn’t scary and it wasn't afraid to move, it was constantly changing. It was waiting for someone to call for it.

With one final note from the trumpet, the egg broke open. A small chick stepped into the light.

The bird flew from the sea to the stage.

“You were brave,” said the bird.

“No,” said the chick softly. “You just believed I could change."

And from that day on, whenever the world became a storm, they faced it together - one playing music, the other standing in the spotlight.

It was a gloomy day in the local bakery where Penelope sat behind the cash register. As a 27 year old college student she was trying to fight off the inevitable homelessness. An interaction with a customer had left her indignant when a large white rat headed straight for the freshly baked cakes. Without having time to react, the animal had taken a cake and bolted out of the store. She chased after it, not wanting to lose her job. Due to the heavy rainfall she lost sight of the rat and when she was about to give up, she fell into a widely open shaft leading into the sewers. She fell and without the strength to get up she started to sob. She suddenly heard the rat speak, "Are you okay? Would you like a piece of cake?" Not even questioning the fact that the rat spoke she agreed. She took the piece of cake handed to her and ate a small bite. Suddenly the rat transformed into a tall, beautiful woman who explained that she was cursed and needed the trust of another. The now woman was named Siouxsie and she took Penelope by the hand, leading her to a land far, far away, where they lived happily ever after.

They make a living by telling stories and learning about the world, and they are kind, curious and brave. Their dream is to find a land where everyone can be free, but they fear being controlled or trapped like the puppets they once saw.

Just recently, they met a puppet master who was pulling strings and controlling small figures, and it made them think deeply. Now they are flying away on the bird they want to protect their freedom. At that moment, they feel a little sad but also hopeful. Secretly, they are thinking that one day they will help other cut their strings and be free too.

In a city full of smoke and noise, there was a man with a metal heart.

Nobody knew how it happened. It made ticking sounds and released steam when the pressure inside became too strong. He worked very hard and cared only about success. People respected him and gave him thumbs up everywhere he went. However, he felt lonely and empty inside.

Every day he tried to fit into a small box called “success.” It was uncomfortable, but he believed this was the only way to be accepted.

One day, a kind woman noticed his sadness. She was not afraid of him. She looked at him and said, “You don’t have to stay in that box.”

Her words surprised him. No one had ever spoken to him like that. Slowly, he began to change. The pressure inside him became weaker.

The next day, he stepped out of the box. People were shocked, but he felt free.

With her help, his metal heart slowly became warm again.

They are mythical creatures that are special and we are honoured that they chosen to live with us. Now we take care of their eggs and kiss them every night so they know what love is, so they do not have to experience loneliness like I did.

I am so happy that I found my purpose in life and love that changed the way I saw the world. Human above the waist, silver tail below, he had long ago stopped trying to decide where he truly belonged.

In the shallows stood something impossible a mental capsule half buried in the sand, still warm from its fall through the sky.

The hatch had opened. A figure stepped out in a sleek silver spacesuit. Inside the helmet was a reptilian eyed alien that reflected the moonlight. The alien moved carefully as if the gravity of this world pressed too hard against her body. She slipped on the wet sand.

Maris reached her before she fell. His hands met the cold curve of her suit, steadying her. For a moment they simply remained there, suspended between ocean and stars.

Behind the glass, her eyes searched his face not with fear, but with the same quiet loneliness he carried. She lifted her hand and pressed it lightly against the inside of her helmet. He placed his palm against the outside.

Between them was only a thin barrier and the vast distance of their worlds. Yet in that fragile contract, something felt simple and while the tide moved gently around them, and above, the sky seemed a little brighter.

These three figures are named Calmness, Shame and The Devil. They live inside the human’s mind. Their purpose is to regulate the nervous system and love the person they live inside. Their names are based on their traits. Their dreams are to make the person overcome any obstacles and love themselves no matter what, even though it may be hard. They have no fears. In a teenager’s mind a huge crash out just happened. She embarrassed herself in front of her whole school. Calmness, Shame and The Devil are there to help her stay calm, while letting her emotions come out. They feel a little shaken up, but that will pass. Their secret thoughts are passing through while being very positive and bright, because at the end of the day the most important company you’ll ever have is yourself. Don’t let your emotions like anger and sadness consume you, always love yourself and choose happiness and calmness, even though Shame and The Devil might visit, they are there to help, not to harm.
