During the time I worked at a start-up game development company, one of the employees in charge of UI/UX design and story design resigned from her position during a big project. At the time, we had no viable replacements to do the tasks which she left behind. After a brief meeting with the board, we decided instead to distribute her tasks to those who had much lighter ones. I was put in charge of UI/UX design for the inventory and main menu for the game project we were working on. Since the task was somehow outside of my skillset, I had to find tutorials and guides and research on the concepts of UI/UX design. In addition, I looked for references from other games to see the standard for designing the menus. At first, the output I submitted was subpar compared to the usual work the former employee submitted. However, after a couple feedbacks and rework of my output, the task was done with acceptable results and the project progressed further.

One of my clients which I had worked for when I was working as freelance developer wanted a project management system integrated in both a web and mobile application. I was given 6 months to work on the system with all the specifications they asked. As student of software engineering at the time, I learned about the concepts and different types of software development life cycles or SDLCs which structures how large and complex software should be developed. For the project, I chose the Agile Development Life Cycle to create the system. This life cycle allowed me to create a timeline at which I would accomplish certain portions of the system until it is completed. The life cycle enabled me to finish the system months before the deadline. However, since the life cycle is an iterative one, I had the client test the system and give feedback. I would then continue to modify and improve the system based on the life cycle and feedback from the client. As a result, the system produced was robust and high-quality with a user-friendly interface and minimal errors.
