1.) 9/11 was a result of massive hatred for the United States by the middle Eastern territories. Leading up to 9/11 there was many valid reasons in eyes of muslim extremist on why the U.S needed to be taken down. U.S involvement in Afganistan, and the continous support of Israel enraged muslims. The american military even had presence in Saudi Arabia post war. There were many warning signs that the United States did not pick up on in previous years such as the bombing of the world trade center in 1993.
2.)Saddam Hussein is one of the main reasons the war in Iraq happen, his reign was an issue. The war was to take the terrorist out of Iraq, and weapons and do not take out the leader. The war in Afghanistan happen also because of the leader osama bin laden who was a terrorist, so the U.S invaded the country right after that.
3.)I think the biggest thing that has stood out to me is the shock of Americans not knowing that other people/countries hated them. It was like America was living in its own little bubble and believed false pretense. The myth of other countries being poor and hating America because they hate freedom is not true. Not all countries get all the information, and america offends other countries very easily.
4.)I learned not to wait till the last minute to do my assignments because it puts added stress on me that I do not even need.

1. The main reason that 9/11 occurred was because of Osama Bin Laden's hate for the United States after the Persian Gulf War. He talked about how he was going to kill Americans because of all the killing that Americans had committed during the Persian Gulf War. Bin Laden believed that he had the power to tear apart the American government because of what he did to the Soviet Union when he was a part of the Mujahideen. However, the situation was different because America was funding the Mujahideen's efforts at the time so that they would be successful. The last reason that it occurred was because the government disregarded other events that pointed to a possible terrorist attacks like the 1993 World Trade Center truck bombing, a string of attacks at U.S. embassies and military bases, and the bombing of the USS Cole.

2. The War in Afghanistan started because the United States was going to do whatever it took to capture the terrorist who planned the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. They eventually found out that it was Osama Bin Laden who was a part of Al-Qaeda, so they went into Afghanistan to find him. The outcome was a drawn out war in Afghanistan that took 20 years, and once they finally withdrew their troops, the Taliban took back over the government. The War in Iraq happened because the government claimed that Iraq was harboring weapons of mass destruction, but there were also people who believed that Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11 even if it was just some funding. The outcome of this war was that Hussein was captured, and the Iraqi government was overthrown which caused even more conflict in the Middle East.

3. Some of the conspiracies about 9/11 are that the Twin Towers were brought down by explosives not planes, a missile hit the Pentagon (not American Airlines Flight 77), United Airlines Flight 93 was shot down, and the United States government knew about the attacks and stood the military down. Although the first three have been debunked, the last one still lingers in the minds of Americans. There were many events that led up to the 9/11 terrorist attacks including Bin Laden informing America that he was coming for them. Some believe that the government let the attacks happen so that they could justify an invasion on Iraq and Afghanistan to secure oil interests.

4. The most valuable thing that I learned from this semester is that hard work and perseverance will go a long way. This can be seen by the various movements that we covered like the Civil Rights movement, the fight for women's suffrage, and the many other minority movements because they wouldn't have had any impact if it wasn't for people continuing to fight no matter how much opposition they faced. This is important to remember because I know that I can still succeed in the face of opposition even when I may feel like I can't because there are other people around to support me and lift me up. One of MLK's famous quotes is “Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.” When I think about this, I know that I can go so much farther than I ever imagined as long as I put my mind to it.

1. The United States continually got involved in and with the Middle East. The United States has and continues to get involved in areas or situations where they are wanted or needed. Hatred for the United States was the root of 9/11. Osama Bin Laden believed that he took down one empire, the Soviet Union, so he believed he could take down another, the United States. The United States provided the Mujahideen founding which then was used to try and take down the United States. Osama Bin Laden gave warning signs such as bluntly saying he was going to kill Americas and then events such as the 1993 World Trade Center truck bombing and the bombing of the USS Cole. Ultimately, Osama Bin Laden wanted to make a statement, killing Americans, and taking down the United States.
2. The War in Afghanistan happened as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the United States. The United States were going to do whatever it took to capture those who organized and participated in the terrorist attack. After the Taliban government refused to hand over terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, the United States invaded Afghanistan. The United States remained in Afghanistan for 20 years until in 2021 they were pulled out. The Taliban immediately took back over the government.
3. One conspiracy is that missiles hit the towers, not planes. Another conspiracy is President Bush set up 9/11. This one stands out most to me because if it were true it would be a huge scandal. The thought behind the conspiracy is that the government was looking for a reason to get into the middle east, but it came at the cost of many lives. They have been proven wrong.
4. I never enjoyed history or felt that I was able to grasp it. I also am always thinking about the future, that I didn't see a large importance of the past. I now am able to see history's importance in the future. If we don't know the nation's history, we may repeat the bad parts of it. Being educated on the United States history allows a person to be a good citizen that can make valuable decisions for themselves and what they believe.

1. 9/11 happened because of the anti American ideas that the terrorist group had for America. With them hating America and American ways and wanting to spread their own form of thinking and America not being apart of that idea. Also America supported Israel and held positions in the Middle East that the group did not like. With America holding station in both Saudi Arabia and Iraq, they saw America as a threat. So in order to create a statement, the group terrorized Americans with the fall of the Twin Towers.
2. The war in Afghanistan was a factor that came after 9/11 because the terrorist group that were involved in 9/11 were stationed in Afghanistan. As retaliation for 9/11, the Bush administration sent troops and fired at them in Afghanistan as the group continued to attack American embassies. This would be the longest war fought for America and American troops would continued to occupy Afghanistan. The war in Iraq happened because of a standoff between America and Iraq about inspecting weaponry as America was watching Iraq military operations. Both countries will hold tension for years until 2003 where America suspected there to be weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that would never be found. America would hold position in Iraq for years after the war.
3. The most common conspiracy that I've heard about 9/11 is that there were bombs already in the buildings and the planes weren't what make the buildings go down. Also the claim that it was done by the government and the planes were just holographs. These theories have been debunked over time as it has not been proven otherwise.
4. The most valuable lesson that I learned from this semester is that there is always room to learn more. History is so complex with many different forms of history from different walks of live and focusing on one does not give it full justice. Always be open minded and the world of history will always have something new to reveal.

1. America had been supporting Israel and kept on getting involved within the Middle East. I feel that the biggest reason for 9/11 to happen was because of Osama Bin Laden because of all the hate that he had towards the United States. He had believed he had taken down the Soviet Union which had then led him into thinking that he could now take down the United States. There had been warning signs the year of 1993 being bombing of the world trade center. America was holding station in Iraq and Saudi Arabia which had led to think that America was becoming a threat. Which then led to the terrorist attacks.
2. The war held in Afghanistan was held after the 9/11 attacks on the United States. This was because the terrorist group who was involved with 9/11 was stationed in Afghanistan. When the United States found out that it was Osama Bin Laden apart of it they were going there to find him. The outcome had come out as the longest war for American troops. The reason of the war in Iraq was between America and Iraq kind of as a standoff between the two. Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Outcome from this was Hussein being captured and the Iraq government then being overthrown.
3. Some conspiracy theories that I have heard that it was bombs and not planes, another was that it was missiles. These have been debunked because none of this had been proven otherwise.
4. The most valuable lesson that I have learned from this year was time management. You cannot jam everything in at one time. You have to know when something is due such as a paper and do research plan out and take more than a few days to do it in able to actually understand and do well.

The most valuable lesson I have leaned from this semester is that history is an important aspect of every day life.

1) 9/11 happened because Osama Bin Ladin had such a strong hatred towards America, partly because of America's involvement with Israel. The thought of now having the power to destroy American government, because of his part in destroying the Soviet Union, yet obviously we know that he was not strong enough to destroy America's government. Another point would be how almost invincible America felt. Brushing off claims for future terrorism, and warnings think that it could never happen to America.
2)The war in Afghanistan occurred because America blamed Al Quida and Afghanistan as a whole for the 9/11 attacks. Everyone was in support of it at the time. The outcome was odd. For as long as America was in Afghanistan, their government was overthrown, and we were safe, yet now that America is no longer there, the government instantly went back into power, leaving our efforts almost obsolete. The war in Iraq occurred because they had weapons of mass destruction, and the outcome would be Saddam Hussein being overthrown.
3)Some conspiracies are that American Government caused 9/11, or that bombs were places, not just plains, or even missiles, yet they have all been debunked. Some still refuse to understand that, however.
4)I learned that people take away different things from the same lesson, and that listening to the input of others only lets you hear a different side. I also learned to prioritize and plan out my work. I can't do everything at one time. I also learned that, while I can learn online and I get it done faster, Even just listening to someone talk about it and force you to consider things that you didn't even think of, makes you learn even more and better.

1. 9/11 happened because of the hatred that Bin Laden and Al qaeda had for the United States. One of the main factors leading up to the 9/11 event was the presence of the United States in the middle east. Bin Laden already hated Americans because he simply believed that the Holy War was still happening and Americans were the enemy. Bin Laden came out and said that he would kill Americans and he made good on his promise. Bin Laden and al qaeda had committed previous attacks on American embassies and even ships, which pointed to another possible terrorist attack that Americans did not prepare for.
2. The War in Afghanistan happened as Americans wanted revenge on the people that planned the 9/11 attacks. The US Military tracked down Bin Laden, the leader of al qaeda, and killed him. The military remained in Afghanistan for around 20 years despite the war only lasting 13 years. While the US military accomplished their goal of taking out most of the terrorist involved in the 9/11 attacks and Bin Laden, the Taliban did take over once the US pulled out of Afghanistan. The War in Iraq happened because the United States feared that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. While the United States did not find any weapons of mass destruction, they did capture Saddam Hussein who they believed to be involved in the 9/11 attack.
3. One of the conspiracy theories that I have heard is that George Bush did 9/11 or he knew about it and didn't do anything about it. Its been proven that Bush didn't plan anything regarding 9/11, but it is still up in the air about now doing anything about 9/11. The 9/11 attacks gave Bush an excuse to get involved in Afghanistan.
4. I think that one of the most valuable lessons that I learned from this semester was how to do research and use time wisely. First semester I felt crammed and like I didn't have time for anything, but this semester I felt like I had plenty of time and did assignments one at a time. I also learned about how impactful a movement can be. Almost all of the massive changes that have happened such as the 19th amendment or simply the civil rights movement all came from a movement or a group of people.

1. 9/11 happened because Osama had hatred with the United States. He believed that he took down the Soviet Union and that he could do the same to the United States. This happened because America supported Israel which made the United States be viewed as evil, decadent, and wrong by others. Osama gave out warning signs to the US but the United States disregarded it just like the bombing of the World Trade Center.
2. The war in Afghanistan happened after the 9/11 attacks in the United States. The United States wanted to find the terrorists who attacked on this day and once they figured out who had done it, Osama Bin Laden, they fought him. This war was definitely not an easy battle because of the amount of time they spent fighting with Afghanistan. America believed that Iraq had too much destructive power but they were demonstrated differently in their outcome.
3. Some conspiracy theories that I have heard about 9/11 is that missiles hit the twin towers and not planes. It was set that 9/11 used explosives to trigger controlled demolition in which have been debunked and not proven right over time.
4. The most valuable lesson that I have learned throughout this semester is to manage time effectively, this came real when it was time to turn in big assignments. It´s important to prioritize your time with writing because writing is a learning process and it can not be done right in just a matter of hours, I will remember this as I proceed with writing more papers and assignments.

1. 9/11 happened for a number of reasons, but mainly because of Osama Bin Laden's hatred for the US, which stemmed from his dislike of the US military involvement in different areas of the middle east and also the US supporting different people and situations that had done bad to Muslim communities. He used his religious extremism to use terrorism as a response to these issues, and he had a whole posse full of people willing to do quite literally anything for Allah and in the name of Allah, and so they were able to carry out their master plan. It happened because the US didn't take enough precaution from previous attacks and warnings. It happened because terrible people do terrible things. There isn't one single reason.

2. The war in Afghanistan happened because that is where Osama Bin Laden and the rest of Al Qaeda were hiding out, back in 2001/2002 at least. The outcome was a 20 year war, and eventually the death of Bin Laden. The war in Iraq happened because of the threat of potential weapons of mass destruction, but people believe in other motives as well. The outcome was mass destruction of Iraq cities, war casualties and the death/the end of Saddam Hussein.

3. There are a few of those conspiracies that stick out to me, and even though I don't believe them, I can see how and why people do because some details within 9/11 can get confusing if you are not educated on the matter. The buildings collapsing, and especially how fast they did, always confused me. I understand the jet fuel, fire, and the extreme heat causing damage to the area of the buildings where there was impact of course, but I don't understand how that could make 2 of the largest steel framed buildings in the world collapse so quickly. I usually assumed that big buildings like those would only partially collapse from damage and not completely fall in on themselves demolition style, but I was wrong. So with all of these details I can understand why people think 9/11 was planned and that there was bombs being detonated to demolish the buildings. It is definitely confusing but practically everything has been debunked for some reason or another. In situations like these where we have all of these questions but not many answers, it's easy for us to start conspiring crazy ideas to give ourselves an answer, but doing this can be very insensitive to those truly affected by the tragedy.

4. The most valuable thing to be learned from this semester would have to be to think before you act. So many things in US history happened before much thought was put into it. The lessons learned taught me to use my brain more in this crazy world.

Some conspiracies about 9/11 that stand out to me is that Bush did 9/11 and that the fuel from the airplane can't burn the metal beams. Both of these have been debunked, but a lot of people still talk about them today.
4.The most valuable lesson that i learned from this semester is probably how to manage my time well and spend my time the right way.
