In the beginning, also in the first chapter it talks about how the main charecter I think is on a beach and he sees a surfboarding cat and he keeps on telling us gow much things that he thinks is weird about that cat. Like for instance in the text on page 1-2 it says, “I noticed several weird things about the Surfboarding Cat. Thing number 1: He was a surfboarding cat. Thing number 2: He was wearing a T-shirt. It said cats rule, dogs drool. Thing number 3: He was holding a closed umbrella, like he was worried about getting wet. Which, when you think about it, is kind of not the point of surfing.” Then the main charecter said that he remembers that cat and he says Crenshaw in a whispering voice. Then he counted to ten and when he opens his eyes then the cat was gone but the cat left their umbrella. So the main charecter describes it and also he sees that in crayon on the umbrella says, “This Bumbershoot Belongs To Crenshaw.” Then he counted to ten again and the crayon and the writing on the umbrella was gone and it vanished. So maybe the boy is dreaming or something because he was a little dizzy and when he counted to ten and his eyes were closed and then they all disappeared instantly. Well so far in the book the author doesn’t tell much about how the book is a fantasy but I know that tyis is a fantasy. So far only the author said how it was fantasy was that there were magical purple jelly beans. Also the author gives some clues in the first chapter that their is a surfboarding cat and nobody on the beach realizes that their is one even though that is kind of fantasy because a cat cany surfboard and nobody sees the cat surfboarding. But I don’t think that that is real because when Jackson closed his eyes the cat was gone and the umbrella was gone too. Also the author tells that there is a cat taking a bath and I know that a cat can’t really take a bath on it’s own. The author also tells that the cat is taking a bath on its own and the cat is talking to Jackson. Also the author says that he made a beard out of soap.  Well I believe the characters jackson on page 1-2 felling weird because the text says “I noticed several things about surfboarding cat the number one: he was a surfboarding cat” also “thing number two: he was wearing a t shirt it said cats rule dog drool”. Anther evidence is “Thing number there: he was holding a colsed umbrella, like he was worried about getting wet which, when you think it, kind of not the point of surfing”. And some more “Thing number four: no one else on the beach seemed to see him. He’d grab a good wave, and his ride was smooth but as the cat neared shore he made the mistake of opening his umbrella a gust of wind yanked him into the sky. He missed a seagull by seconds. His parents are also talking about moving to their moms and dads apartment because they can’t pay the rent bill.  Well what i learn from Jackson dad interactions is he is desperate for money how I know this because it says “won’t be the frist time I’ve played an outdoor concert my dad said . And you can’t come with me someone needs to stay with the kids we waited in the minivan, watching him as he crossed the street my dad stood on the lane diver by the left hand turn signal.
