Growing up I was never a fan of Punk Rock/Pop Punk music as I wasn't familiar with it however listening to bands such as Green Day, Linkin park, and Blink 182, for this report has made me attune my ears to the nuances in this genre of music and it's importance to a large segment of music fans. Punk Rock music has had a pretty large influence on the landscape of the music industry in the 2000s and has amassed a large devout fanbase, many of the punk rock bands formed in the late 90s still enjoy mainstream popularity in the 2010s. 

The cultural impact of pop punk music on the millennial generation has been quite profound, one stand out element has been how pop punk bands have been able to promote southern California culture and lingo across the United States and the rest of the world. Punk Rock music has been symbolized as the music of the rebellious adolescents, evidence of this is the use of punk rock music in movies geared towards teenagers. Despite studying and analysing punk rock music for this media report, I am still not a fan of this genre, although I can respect people that do like listening to this kind of music.
