Of Mice and Men revolved around the subject of being alienated and isolated. It revealed that even the most poorest, lonely people of society have the biggest dreams. I did not enjoy the book at the beginning but once I got past it, I could not stop reading. The book taught me about tragedy and the suffering that people went through during the Great Depression. It left me surprisingly emotional.

The second book in the Children of Eden Series. Elites of Eden begins after Rowan was captured and starts off with Yarrow, the spoiled daughter of Eden's Chief of Intelligence. As the book goes on, readers get to see how Yarrow and Rowan are connected and how much of an impact it could have on Eden. The mystery of Yarrow and Rowan became interestingly twisted. The dark truths revealed about Eden were crazy and surprising. Elites of Eden left me wanting more.
https://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews/elites-of-eden-children-of-eden-book-2

This book follows Magnus Chase in his twisted fate where he gets mixed up with the ancient Norse Gods of Asgard, and his dangerous journey to find the Hammer of Thor that was stolen. I loved this book, the pacing was not too slow, it had me laughing and crying, a whirlwind of emotions that culminate perfectly in this book for a great read.
https://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews/the-hammer-of-thor-magnus-chase-and-the-gods-of-asgard-book-2/user-reviews/child

The Hate U Give is about sixteen-year-old Starr Carter and her family living in Garden Heights, a poor neighborhood. She lives a double life, one in Garden Heights and one in Williamson Prep, a primarily white school. She witnesses her childhood friend, Kahlil get shot by a cop. Further into the book Starr faces different bumps in her journey to try to get Kahlil justice. Angie Thomas wrote a tear-jerking and inspiring book about very real struggles of people living in America, as well as the rest of the world. It made me realize many subjects that I am not familliar with, such as how gangs are a big influence in poorer neighborhoods. I am looking forward to a second book, if there will be one, because I need to know what happens as Starr's adventure continues.

This book follows the story of two sisters and their descendants as they go about their lives. One line stays in Africa while the other gets shipped off to America. It had a satisfying ending that made me happy that the journey both families made along the way finally had a peaceful ending.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27071490-homegoing
