Emotional intelligence is a fundamental part of life. This intelligence covers self-awareness, emotional control, empathy, and relationship skills. I feel this is the gateway to overall success in life. By providing this as part of a curriculum to the young can provide the foundation for future habits carried on into their life.

Today’s knowledge demands workers who are critical and creative thinkers. Workers need to be self-regulated who understand the ways they learn and are continuously committed to their self-development. This also includes emotional resiliency, and the ability to adapt with fluidity. Integrating a richer curricular environment by including a multitude of creative, social, and emotional learning will benefit and possibly gauge the “whole-person” mentality of development. It is quite possible that incorporating these steps into young school-aged children may ultimately aid in early intervention for learning deficits.
