In our experiment, the data supported the hypothesis. The data showed that when you perform a physical activity your heart rate increases. For example, in trial one, the resting heart rate after you lay down for 5 minutes was 64 bpm. After performing the physical exercise of sit ups for a minute, the heart rate was increased by 36 bpm. This data results in the acceptance of the hypothesis.

If the experiment were to be completed again, it could’ve been more accurate if there was a longer resting period after the exercise so your heart rate can slow down completely.

The experiment also could’ve been more valid if the same exercise was performed for the three trials.

During exercise, your body may need three or four times your normal cardiac output, because your muscles need more oxygen when you exert yourself. During exercise, your heart typically beats faster so that more blood gets out to your body.

We repeated this process 3 times.

2: We then measured Matthew’s heart rate while he exercised for a minute at full pace. We repeated this process 3 times as well with different exercises each time.

3: Next we measured Matthew’s heart rate to see how many times it beat every 15 seconds and then multiplied that by 4 to determine how many times it would beat every 60 seconds.
