Racial tensions in the US began when Europeans arrived and mistreated Native Americans. Slavery made things worse, with African people forced to work under harsh conditions. Even after slavery ended, laws kept black and white people apart, causing more problems. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s marked a turning point in racial equality. Through violent (Malcom X) and nonviolent protests (MLK), activists fought to dismantle segregation and secure equal rights for all Americans, regardless of race. Racial tensions still exist today and it’s not just between black and white. There are also religious conflicts.

We can confidently identify the man on the picture as a slave. The Chains were a typical method to use on salves. Slaves were treated like another species, as if they weren’t humans. The text describes the words of the slave. He is asking the people who have more rights than him if he’s different from them. He reminds them that he is also just a human like everyone else.

Luckily, they got help from Native Americans, like Squanto, who taught them how to grow crops and survive. When they had a good harvest in 1621, they threw a big feast to thank everyone. This feast is often seen as the first Thanksgiving. Now, Thanksgiving is a big holiday where families come together to eat and be grateful for what they have. It's a time to remember the Pilgrims' struggles and how they found friendship and help in a new land.
