How and Why did your family come to the United States?

He went to the United States by illegally crossing the border to have a better life outside of Mexico because life was extremely hard, money was hard to make, and food was scarce and the opportunity to try and get a better life for himself and his family.

What were the obstacles that they met?

Some of the challenges he was involved in were racism, becoming a United States citizen, buying his first home that he was able to pay off and own, and the language barrier which also includes trying to learn the actual language, culture, and how to read English as well.

What was going on Historically in the U.S. during this time and did it affect your family?

They do remember when Rodney King was beaten up by the police and they were in Los Angeles at the time and the gas prices were high but since he rides a bicycle he wasn't affected but at that time they're were child abductions and when he tried to pick up my aunt from school the police thought he was kidnapping her and got pulled over.
