The battle was fought in the Charleston harbor of South Carolina. This event was really the big starter of the civil war and the endless bloodshed to come.</p>]]></description>

The battle took place in Sharpsburg, Maryland </p>]]></description>

The battle led to a Confederate win and over 12,000 Union casualties the battle lasted four days. It was one of the largest and most deadly battles of the Civil War.</p>]]></description>

The battle ended up being a Resounding Union victory that secured Grant's beachhead east of the Mississippi River. This win also cleared the way to the southern railroad supplying Vicksburg.</p>]]></description>
