I learned the technique from Kagan Cooperative Learning. You put them into teams of 3 or 4 using only odd numbered breakout rooms (the even numbered rooms will become places for A/B partners to meet separately), they rename themselves with their room # then their "numbered head" (1,2,3,4) and A for odd numbers, B for even. Then you can put all the #1s together to become experts in something and put them back together in their teams for each one to teach their team. I tried it!
