I have been an RN for approximately 15 years. I have worked in Intensive Care Units, Emergency Departments, ward nursing, specialty care (plastics, urology, wound care, etc…), Home Care, and Primary Health Care to put names to some of my experiences. In these experiences and others, I have had the privilege of many titles such as: Charge Nurse, Critical Resource Nurse, Manager, Director, Chief Operating Officer, entrepreneur, business owner, etc…  

I am a Generation Y cohort and believe in life balance and have a results based attitude. I use all leadership styles and believe in adaption theory. On a personal note I have a wife, three kids, a dog, a fish, and a snail.  I am also one of the funniest people in the world. 

I want to congratulate everyone for being selected to be in my class, as you are now able to learn from my brilliance. I assume some of your classmates will be disappointed (not being in my class) but that’s understandable and we will talk about how to manage disappointment in this class. This way you can display the appropriate level of sympathy and maintain a leveraged working friendship.

I work at a daycare in MJ when I am not attending school. I like to read, and spend time with family and friends. I am definitely a dog person.

When I am done school I would like to work in Moose Jaw or another small town. I would like to continue to work with children, which makes me very excited for my current pediatrics rotation.

We have become crazy dog parents since getting him. We love travelling and just got back from Jamaica a week ago! I grew up on a farm so I had horses and all sorts of animals! This is one aspect that I really miss since moving to the city.  However, I manage to keep myself busy by working out, going to spin classes, and playing sports, such as curling, volleyball, and snowboarding. I also work part-time at Melcher Media where I assist in organizing events. In this role, I practice leadership in a variety of ways, such as taking initiative, sharing ideas, and developing protocols. 

For this pediatric rotation, I am placed at the Seven Stones Community School. I have always loved children so I am looking forward to this rotation!
