Dr Sun Yat-sen was a Chinese statesman, physician, and political philosopher, who served as the Republic of China's first temporary president and the Kuomintang's founding leader. He also studied medicine and became a successful doctor. Dr. Sun Yat-sen dedicated his revolutionary life to overthrowing the Qing Dynasty and establishing the Republic of China. His accomplishments were recognized and respected by both local and international Chinese. He developed his revolutionary ideas and goals while attending secondary and higher education.

SoHo was a quiet residential area with a multicultural mix of people. When the Central Mid-Levels escalator opened in 1993 the area became a dining hub. The central Mid Levels escalator was built at 1993. The escalator system, which at the time was the longest in the world, is credited with giving SoHo its current vibrant character. Buildings around SoHo  consists restaurants, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and antique stores.

The acronym 'SoHo' was created by the creator, Thomas Goatz. The South China Morning Post newspaper attributed the first mention of SoHo to Elgin Street restaurant owner Thomas Goetz.

As you know from the introduction, Central Mid Levels has evolved a lot over time. Back then Mid Levels was a mountain filled with small resistance houses, beside it was a village named 'Queen's Town' which was later on called 'Victoria'. When the British arrived Mid Levels and Victoria was home to over 3,650 people. By 1845, the population grown to be over 25,000 ever since the British came.

How was traditional Chinese culture different?
Back then, the culture in Mid Levels was all Chinese. The British hadn't moved in until 1841. The Architecture back then included stone and religious writings on walls, and Chinese tiled roofs. Ever since the British moved in, the architecture has changed to having more Arches and Arched windows, fine brickwork, stone brick walls, and sashed windows.

Central Mid Levels had grown since 1840 because business operations from Macau and Canton had come over to Victoria to build on a colony.

Located at G/F & 1/F, 38 Shelley Street, Feather and Bone is a popular butcher grocery shop in Mid Levels. The traditional design gives each store a nostalgic feel, and the design was inspired by the neighborhood's butchers and grocers in the 20th century. The restaurant will have over 60 seats accessible for dining in, providing breakfast, lunch, supper, and more from 7 a.m. to midnight.
