" which is when someone pressures you with words, can be difficult to resist " (pg 6). This is the hardest to refuse because you usually don't want to make people feel bad. Most of the time you think doing these things will make you cooler.

Unspoken pressure

" Sometimes you can feel pressure just from watching how others act or dress, without them saying a word to you " (pg 7). This is unspoken pressure which once again is hard to refuse. You tend to have more trouble refusing this because you are going against yourself. " • Take a reality check—most teens don’t drink
• Remember it’s risky—alcohol can be dangerous
• Walk away from the situation
• Find something else to do with other friends" (pg 7). These are some ways to avoid unspoken pressure

" Negotiation is a method by which people settle differences. It is a process by which compromise or agreement is reached while avoiding argument and dispute" (pg 7). This can be a great skill to have because you can try to settle differences that benefit both sides.

One time this guy was trying to get me to do stuff but I wouldn't because I know what I want. So I kept saying no and nothing happened. For me it is not hard to say no. I very strongly believe in what I don't want to do so there for I don't do it. I think for me I just hold myself up to high standards and don't want to break them.
