I decided to become a Monarch because the community seemed super nice and everybody was so welcoming. The good environment and friends that I knew coming here made me decide to become a Monarch. An experience that happened really early on at Mitty that influenced me was when I fell behind at the very beginning of the year. I worked really hard throughout the rest of the year to try and catch up. Coming into the second semester I avoided this mistake and was able to relax a little more and enjoy myself. Something that I have learned about myself is that I really enjoy being with people. At the end of the first semester my grades were struggling and I was super stressed about finals coming up. I was also struggling socially because I was losing friends because I was hanging out with other people. I felt lost and like I did not know what to do. It was super hard for me to focus on anything. Coming into the second semester I knew that I did not want to get into that situation again. I worked super hard to keep my grades up and worked hard to spend time with my friends. I am in a much better situation now and am feeling more confident and excited about school.
