This image is from the food challenge that we did in class. I edited this in photoshop and deepened the dark colors to really let the cookies be the focal point of the picture, it also helped the lighting look very calm to give the cookies a soft look. I really like this picture because of how soft the lighting is and how golden the cookies look.

Kat and I had a lot of fun taking these photos and what I especially liked about this one was the blue in their eyes and the glow in the cards. For this photo I actually had them wear their Hello Kitty outfit plus get their makeup done because I felt that it would bring out more of the magical theme.

I got this image from the food photography project. I darkened the picture using the contrast tool a lot so that there wasn't any distractions in the background so that the cupcakes are the main focus. The lighting was good but I felt that it should be darker. I like this picture because I can imagine what this cupcake tastes like and feels like.

This photo is from the light painting project. I had a lot of fun playing with the shutter speed and getting the chance to use the light stick. My teammates and I were able to capture this amazing photo of one of our group members. We moved the light stick around here in circular motions to create this lightsaber orb around her. I really like how out of focus the photo is because it adds to the dizziness and illusion of the photo created by the light.

I took this photo as part of the compositional rules project. We went to the duck pond and I saw a bird perched up on a branch and decided to take this photo using rule of thirds. I really didn't edit this much. Obviously I changed the coloring to black and white in order to replicate Ansel Adams style of photography. Other than the black and white I only made some clearing and cleaning up edits to make the photo more detailed.

I really liked this picture from the compositional rules project because of how clean the reflections off of the creek are, and how the focus emphasizes the plant in the corner. I'm a sucker for black and white edits, so this entire project was a lot of fun for me, since it was all about high contrast black and white edits that emphasized our compositions over the colors in the shots. The picture was pretty in color, but it was definitely elevated by the edit. The reflections off of the water make the photo a little busy, but not so much as to distract from the subject of the picture, and the reflections give the photo a lot of character and mystery, which really informs my opinion of the picture.

You can see the dramatic lighting that makes out the detailed shades on the skin. I changed various things, mostly contrast and textures by blending. I took this picture in my house by a glass door. I like this image because without my mom I would not be here, and the photo shows her importance in my life.

I messed with the coloring of the guitars and the way that they were set up. It was fun to make because I was able to give my own touch to the photo. I feel like this one shows the amount of concentration and creativity to take the picture. The guitars already had beautiful colors I just had to accentuate then more. I love how you almost can't tell what the original picture was.

I took this photo for the artist as a mentor project. I actually didn't do much editing to the photo I just added a filter and changed the light a little. I absolutely love this photo because I didn't really know the models they just happened to be in my class and I asked them if they would model from and they said yes. It was during class so it was really rushed and awkward because the whole class was watching. My favorite part of the photo is that the sun is making them glow a little and that they are both slightly smiling.

This picture was taken for the Artist as a Mentor project. I was recreating images of the photographer Alice Gao, who is well-known for being a still life photographer. Her style is very simple and minimalistic, which is why I enjoyed taking photographs based on her other work. I really like how this image I took creates a peaceful mood because everything is mostly neutral tones. This also helps bring more attention to the flowers under the lamp, because it they are a purple color which stands out from the rest of the colors in the photograph. I took this image in the living room and I didn't really need to set anything up to create it, I just saw the lighting and thought that it would make for a great picture because the wall was a plain color and it would give the minimalistic effect of Alice Gao's work.

This photo was took on the magic and fantasy project assignment. I wanted to make it with the light effects of slow exposure, as well as a want to add an element of my own hobby and passion, so too say. This image display's an instrument within a black room, with light surrounding it on every angle, adding a unique effect of magic as well as peacefulness. The instrument is the main point of focus, something seen threw the light, with thew beams acting as sort of a frame to hold the clarinet. To be honest, this picture was a mistake, the overall lighting changed on me by accident by I pushing a different button on the blade, turning from blue to purple, although I think it turned out great, and after almost 50 pictures taken with these setting at different angles and colors, I chose this one to be my favorite of all the photos taken this year.

This is my favorite photo because I had a lot of creative freedom to work on it, and I got to do it with my brother. We got all the props together and I made a basic story line and we had fun taking the photos.

This photo is from our Macro Photography Project. It is one of my favorites because I had never used a Macro Lens before, and I ended up getting this really nice insect photo. I like the way the bright yellow wasp contrasts against the murky water and green foliage. You can really see the glistening reflections and textures. It was a challenge to get the proper angle when the wasp wasn't flying, but everything worked out and Im really happy with how it came out.

This photo was taken for the Elements of Art Project. I really liked this photograph because it gives a very peaceful feeling. I loved that I took the photo from an angle as it gives more of a story of the ocean. I liked how the front rock is blurry and it focuses more on the ocean. As well as the stairs emphasize more of scenery. I chose this photo for value because of the different shades. I manipulated the photograph by putting a black and white filter to catch more of an emotional appeal to the viewers eye.

Also it was really fun setting this up and working with my team members. I loved how all of our photos turned out. Although I especially love this one that I took because of the detail in it. Also because when I was editing it, it was super cool to see how the different elements like the texture, contrast, exposure really made a difference in this photo.

This photo is from the project on food photography. I just recently transferred here a month ago, so we haven't done a lot of projects. This is my favorite out of the few choices I had, because I like the depth in the image. To manipulate the image, I made the f stop at f-8, and I also made sure to focus in on a single part of the grapes. I took this on a bench at school. There was gloomy lighting, so I had to saturate the image quite a bit.

I added some warm colors to make the image bring a warm feeling(just like cookies do). I also lowered some of the brightness to get more detail shown in the image. I really like this image because of the good feeling I get. The image makes me hungry and gives a relaxing feeling.

I took this photo for the food photography project and I love first of all the color of the image. I feel like the yellow adds so much to the photo and makes the viewer calmer. It almost looks as if the sun is shining directly on the cup and the Oreo. I love the contrast that the crumbs add in front of the cup and the Oreo. This came out exactly how I wanted it and fit the goal of the project which was to make the food item look as appetizing as possible and I feel with this picture I did that fully.

I wanted to create it where this person has the moon's power and can control whatever the moon does. I really loved taking this photo because I enjoy astrology. I wanted to include a spacey theme into the project. I'm really proud that I got it how I wanted. It was one of my best photos yet.

This photo is from the recent food photography project. I really like this photo because of the way it turned out after the editing. I edited the texture, vibrance, and exposure for this image. I like the main focus, the donut, being the only thing that's clear and the background blurry, but still visible to make out what could be behind the donut. I like the warm and soft feel the picture gives off likes it's a memory on a sunny afternoon.

I loved how the tarp just laid there kind of like a dead body, because of that little detail when I took the picture I knew I wanted to go down the horror route of the project. Which is why I ended up deciding to add a Wendigo which is an evil spirit with a different creature in the background and ended up making it all black and white to add into that spooky factor I was looking for when creating this picture. The whole point of this picture was to make the viewers need to take another look at the image.

I got this image from the MOPA Magic and Myth project. In the photo I changed the lighting and colors to make this type of mystical fiction picture. I then used photoshop to insert the monster trying to grab the sun along with the bird and shark fins. When I was working on this I did my best to try to make it creepy with the big being way big and how everything is very ghost like. I like this picture because it is unique and creepy. I also really like how the water is a dark blue/ purple and the sky is a red.

To create the expressions of my model I allowed her to use different facial expressions by telling her to lift up her eyebrows, look to a direction, and just find that perfect face expression. Over all it was super successful.

Originally I had chose a different photo but after we did the Macro Photography project I just loved my photos. I haven't really taken the best photos that I could this year but during the Macro project I took some of the best photos I could have taken. Granted it was a little harder with the fact that you had to focus in on the subject every time you wanted to take a picture, and the fact that you had to get really close to the subject as well but I think the whole experience of doing that helped me realize I was surrounded by things I could take pictures of and make unique. I know that the whole thing is based in timing and even exploring which made me enjoy it even more. The whole thing sort of made me want to buy a macro lease of my own, though I doubt I'll ever have enough money, and I believe I've found a type of photography that I really enjoy. The picture itself is a lizard that had stopped and looked at us as we were walking, I had also stopped and slowly getting closer to him getting a couple photos before he ran away into the trees.

It feels ambiguous to interpretation but to me it feels like it hones in on a little world on itself. Like it isn't apart of a bigger picture, even when it is. The lighting in the picture is also great, it gives the photo a melancholy mood.

The photograph displayed above was apart of the MOPA Myth & Magic Project, when we took a trip down to the duckpond next to RBV here and took a multitude of different types of photos. This image here was taken on a trail that is located somewhat deep inside of the duckpond trails, showing the sheer distance of the mountain on its side, with the mix of dead yet alive shrubbery coinciding with it. Now what I did to manipulate this photograph was that I edited it in Lightroom Classic, adjusting the saturation to a deeper, darker color scale with an adjustment to the hues themselves, creating a purple violet paired with a dark blue type of background. Wanting it to feel like your in a dream-like landscape, I saw the opportunity to create an environment of dreaminess qualities with a feeling of being free, while being in a cold, open, unfamiliar environment. I enjoy and specifically like this photo because I feel it captures a sense of how nature passes by with time, and how it coincides with the flow of life, open with no disruptions as such with a dream you can say the same thing.

This picture was taken from our most recent project but this one is also my favorite because it looks so professional and it looks like it would be in a commercial. I like how a portion of the photo is dark and the other half is light, it makes it look like Im having a picnic under a tree. It kinda gives off professional food photography vibes.

I enjoyed this picture because of how still it is and the black and whites in it. The shadows are captured perfectly in this photo because of how moody grey it was outside that day. I like to think that the pattern is little rocks sticking up from the ground. One day I hope to find something that replicates this in nature. I edited the photograph to have a darker tone to the picture.

It's one of my favorite pictures throughout the whole year because I edited the texture, vibrance and exposure to make him pop out. Nature soothes me when I'm outside- it takes my stress away and I think of the positive side of life. It's like magic when I walk out because I see all the beautiful things that earth has created . My cat loves to be outside too, he enjoys the warm sun and rain puddles.

It was an accidental picture when I was trying to figure out how to work the camera but came out really cool! The vibe this picture gives just draws my eyes to it always which is why I chose this one!

So basically what I did to take this photograph was I had to kneel down by the little river and then I had to lower the camera to be able to get the shot. The lighting from the sun also shines on the water which gives off a very peaceful look.

I'm grateful that I met Jojo, and I think this picture does him justice. For the image I just had him be comfortable in the lighting studio and snapped the perfect image of him glancing off to the side. I didn't quite know what to photograph but I was later inspired by this new cologne that I bought and it hit me. Once I got home I set up this little studio and got straight to work. I set up my background and got my subject in place as well with the lighting and then asked Alexa to play my playlist and we got to work. When I was editing, I went with a dark and kind of dramatic mood and used my phone editing to add text and to fix other things. This was overall by far one of my favorite projects I have done.

The person in this photo is my friend Jesus and he's modeling as a rich business man, so that's why he's holding cash in his hand. I choose this photo for my end of the year art gallery because I feel that this was my best photograph that I have taken. To make the fake tornado, I made a cone out of paper and stuck cotton on to it, then I used wire and a rubber band to secure it to the model's hand. Then my friend threw dead leaves from the side to give it action. In Photoshop I added the lighting, added a motion blur, added more detail to the tornado, and I also had to erase the wire/rubber band using the healing brush. Also because she is my best friend, I like the detail of the trees and also how it looks like she is going to walk into the gap. I also like that it is black and white. It really is just my type of photo. It was also a photo taken on accident.

In the photo above is my friend, Emily Young, as an elf holding a glowing crystal, sitting in a forest. This is my favorite picture I took this year because of the theme and how creative we got to be. For the project, I asked my friends to be my models for this project and they went above and beyond with their outfits and props. For the background, we went to a local park to get a forest look. I also loved how the editing turned out and how green I got the scenery to be. I felt that it added to the forest look. I also got the crystal to have a glowing effect and a slight ray of light beaming down on the subject. This is 100% my favorite shoot I got to do with my friends because it was so fun and memorable. They have helped me with multiple projects in photo 1 and photo 2. I'm grateful photography gave me the opportunity to learn, have fun, and be creative with my friends.

Basically the title of the photograph is The Magic Of Growing Up. I like looking back at this photograph because I can always look back to see the type of person I have become.
