I often wait for others to act or speak so that I have a sense of the "right way" to respond to issues of race that aren't straigthforward. What I'm learning is that as white people, we need to be able to actively engage in the work and be the first to take action. We need to be okay with failing, with being in perfect, with facing critique 
and criticism.
