"Our youngest sister had the quickest reflexes. She used her hands to flatten her ears to side of her head. She backed towards the far corner of the garden, snarling in the most menacing register that an eight-year old wolf-girl can muster, then she ran. It took them two hours to pin her down and tag her: "HELLO! MY NAME IS MIRABELLA!" pg 228
This is where Mirabella is introduced. We learn that she is the youngest, and seemingly the most restless.

"Mirabella was in a dark corner, wearing a muzzle, Her party culottes were duct taped to her knees." pg 241
This quote is from near the end of the book, it shows that she has not improved, and if anything, she has gotten worse. She is shown wearing a muzzle and her clothes are duct taped to her body.

Mirabella is, as of now in the story, still stuck to her wolf pup ways. She has yet to adapt like the rest of the pack have so far. Here's 3 ways that she hasn't changed so far.

1. She still runs on all fours.
Mirabella, as stated before, is still more wolf than civilized human at this point in the book. Along with this, she runs on fours, which is bad for her hands. "She was still loping around on all fours (which the nuns had taught us to

see looked unnatural and ridiculous—we could barely believe it now, the shame of it, that we used to locomote like that!), her fists blue-white from the strain."

2. She has yet to learn words.
Mirabella, by the time the rest of the girls are on stage four, she is still on stage one. This means that words mean nothing to her, and that she is still a bit of a biter. "Mirabella let out a whimper. She scratched at us and

scratched at us, raking her nails along our shins so hard that she drew blood. Then she rolled belly-up on the cold stone floor, squirming on a bed of spelling-bee worksheets."

3. Everyone hates Mirabella.

It is very, VERY CLEAR, that Mirabella is the most hated wolf pup, more so than Jeanette, which is saying a lot. " The pack had been waiting for this moment for some time. 'Mirabella cannot adapt! Back to the woods, back to the woods!'"
