Today is my first day working at Jin Fei Yan Restaurant. This restaurant is located in Cheras area and selling Chinese based food. My working shift for today is from 12 pm to 9 pm. The dress code for work is only a white plain t-shirt, dark colour long pant and an apron. The boss of the restaurant, Zac Chin introduce me to the other colleague and give me a small briefing before start working. Fortunately, with the passed working experience in this industry I feel smooth to do the job. To make the work easier and avoid from big mistake, I only take orders from small number of customer. There were customers come earlier than operation hour. Normally in this case, we have to informed them that we have not yet start operating and ask them if they would like to wait or eat at the other place. Last day of weekday. It will be more crowded than other day. My work for today is only escort customers to their table and clean up table after customers finished their meal. I need to speed up my movement today to prepare and set up tables for meals so customers can have a comfortable area to eat. I arrived at restaurant earlier that usual. I start my work by cleaning up all the kitchenware and dining area. Then I refill the sauces bottle with soy sauce, pepper, chili oil and pickling chili so that we can directly serve to customers when they needed. I learned to collect payment from customers. My senior colleague show me how to calculate the bill. There were no pay counter system at the counter but only a calculator and one credit card terminal for customers who would like to pay by using credit card. Weekend ended and everything back calm. I work as usual and no sudden occurrence happen. Before closing, I swept and mop the floor once again. Due to the low crowd day, Mr. Zac who is also the chef of the restaurant decided to create new menu to launch. Today is my last day in JIn Fei Yan Restaurant. Every work going so smooth as I already familiar with job. I can even handle customers by my own, explain and suggest menu to customers.
