Madame Stanton held an unpacking meeting for all participants of the International Student Conference 2026. Until then, the word “international” had always felt like a broad and abstract term to me. As we sat on her couch eating cheese and baguettes and sodas, discussing our thoughts, I felt like I opened my heart to these people. Despite our different backgrounds, we were able to understand one another through a shared experience: living in a culture different from our own. Recognizing that we all carried this same feeling of being away from home made Groton, in an unexpected way, more like home. - Chloe '29
