A place where they can talk to someone, where they can cry, where they can get frustrated, etc. And I think that sometimes teachers forget that sometimes students are also stressed and need a time to have a breakdown. Some students are already so hard on themselves, they don't need a teacher coming down on them as well. Students need to interact with each other in a respectful and positive manner. Saying "Please", "Thank you", "May I", etc. Having a respectful, and positive classroom can benefit a child's education. Not all students like to be publicly praised, but I think it is important to leave small little "Pick me up" type notes on students work. I also think it is important that a teacher also praises her students in person, so that student knows that it is a genuine praise, and not just on paper type of thing.
