The quote from page 197 states that, "Mona lost feelings for Frank due to the lies and broken promises in their marriage." This quote reminds us that lying gets you absolutely no where in life. This quote is a perfect example because in the beginning of the book, when Mona first met Frank she was in love with him and back then he did not lie to her but as soon as the lying started, the relationship started ending. Mona was very upset about this because she met a completely different young boy who cared about her and never raised a hand or even lied to her. This a example of Drugs ruining life's because Frank had a house, food, kids, and a wife but once she found him using the needle his whole life turned to a trash bag on the side of the road. Mona did everything for Frank even stuck with his abuse and his insane family but there was no love left once she saw Frank hiding in the bathroom with the needle in his hand.
