It was spread through ticks, mice, and the air. People didn’t know how to react the disease so they often turned to medieval medical methods such as herbal remedies to treat the plague.  The disease would die down each winter because the ticks would go dormant, but each spring the plague would come back taking more victims. By 1348, the Plague had already spread all over Europe, Paris, London, Bordeaux, and Lyon. The disease mainly affected Europe in the 1350’s, but it reappeared throughout Europe for many many generations. The disease didn’t fully disappear until the 1600’s. Majority of the population in feudal society was serfs, so therefore their population was effected the worst. With so many people dying, there was a shortage of labor, the peasants started to demand higher wages and better treatment, which contributed to the down fall of feudalism. Another main component of feudalism that went to the background after the Black Death was the church. The church played a massive role in feudal society and when the Plague struck, so many people looked to the church to protect them from the disease.
