From my observations, they would rather be on the phone than have an actual conversation with their peers our teachers. Most days we have a 60-70% participation rate. The few that don't share as much seem to be the same group but I would love ideas that make them feel like they can still contribute that they are comfortable with. This was one link I found, and one idea I like is moving to alternate locations for circles. I recall when on zoom,during the hight of Covid,that sudents not showing thier image often express themselves without feeling ashamed if they were incorrector an opposing view. They are often too tired in the morning to want to participate. I will say that for me, it really depends on who is there that day. I have a few "mean" girls in my group and when they are absent, my chat is amazing.
