In my experience, inviting the more reticent parent and caregivers to meet with you or attend Q&As helps to allay their misconceptions and fears. Many just need to be heard and/or need to "check out" assumptions they have about what and how you are teaching. I have grade level meetings with parents/caregivers at the beginning of the year to review developmental milestones and provide a curriculum overview and resources.

At Viewpoint, we use Advisory committees for various areas, but I think it would be a great idea to have students' input on what is discussed in the Sexual Health unit and beyond.

I keep thinking about the phrase of "Here at X school, we believe that..." for example: all human being have inherent worth and deserve respect. Maybe that is also a way for admin to be more supportive if there is an issue.
