This battle was one of the most important battle even though the Americans lost the battle. The battle was held on March 15th 178. In the courthouse of Greensboro in north Carolina. And was one of the most largest battles ever! The commander had 4,400 soldiers the leader of the 1,900 British soldiers was named Charles Corneille. He knew he was outnumbered by the Americans but he had confidence. In Virginia they retreated and gathered new troops and food. They decided to march and attack the British. When the Americans reached the courthouse they knew that the British will attack soon so they set up defenses they would soon have lines of troops waiting for the British to come and attack. They thought that the British would decide to leave and retreat because they were out numbered. When the British reached the courthouse they met the first line of Americans after to people shot at a time those people retreated and then the British met another line of Americans which did the some thing at the center they had a short battle and then retreated.

What Guilford Courthouse is about the Revolutionary war and it was the most important thing. There were so many soldiers that had died in the battle. The battle had took place on March 15, 1781, at the Guilford Courthouse. It was the most longest war in the south. The commanders for the Revolutionary war where 4,400 American soldiers, And then the continental army in the south all by George Washington. The leader of about 1,900 British soldiers, his name is General Charles Cornwallis. When Greene reached Guilford Courthouse he set up his defense. He knew that the British would soon attack. The American Army under Nathanael Greene had recently retreated from the British into Virginia. After gathering new troops and fresh supplies, Greene decided to go back on the attack. He crossed the border back into North Carolina and marched toward the British under General Cornwallis. He used a similar defensive strategy to that used by Daniel Morgan at the Battle of cowpens. Then thought that they would retreat.Around 500 of the 1,900 British soldiers were killed or wounded. He was forced to march his weakened army to Yorktown, Virginia in hopes of gaining new troops. He would eventually surrender at Yorktown. Nathanael Greene's overall strategy in the South was one of attrition. He hoped to wear down the British a bit at a time. He said that "We fight, get beat, rise, and fight again."

The battle of Guilford Courthouse was a important battle in the revolutionary war. The Americans lost the battle. The battle happened March 15 1781. It was one of the largest battles in the south during the war. The British leader knew he was outnumbered by the American army. The american army retreated recently. When the army got more people and supplies they went out to set up for the next battle. The general of the american army named Nathanael Greene led the american soldiers to set up the defense because they knew the British would attack soon. The general would line up troops just like the battle of Cowpen. When the British attacked they fought against untrained militia soldiers. They shot at the British 2 times and retreated. As the British got closer they fought against more militia. Once again some fires and retreat. The British finally came to the main american forces. After a small battle Greene and the american soldiers retreated. The British won the battle but lost about 500 men. Some were injured but since they had a small army they lost many soldiers. Cornwallis, the British general led the British soldiers to Yorktown. He hoped to get more troops but he would eventually loose at Yorktown. The American army overall plan was to make the British army weaker a little at a time.

of the american army named Nathanael Greene led the american soldiers to set up the defense because they knew the British would attack soon.
