I still need to learn the difference between archetypes and stereotypes. Their definitions are very similar. However, what I gather is that a stereotype is an oversimplified view of a person that is held on a widespread view. An archetype is of a similar view about a person, but found in certain cultures rather than globally.

Debunking the meaning of traditional literature

I believe it is important to share that traditional literature is not ancient tales from long ago, but rather "stories [that] have their roots in the tales of long ago." I was always under the impression that traditional literature was comprised of stories that were sealed in time and never altered. Turns out there are hundreds of versions of Cinderella, which is considered to be traditional literature.
