I feel that anyone that mis-behaves has learnt this behaviour from someone else and therefore imitates this to get what they "want".
But, a child that lives in a home with domestic violence may have learnt this from what they seen and think this is "normal" because someone they live with behaves like that and if the child loves them, they see them as a role model and see that nothing is wrong with this.

I believe it's the teachers responsibility to help children learn how to manage their behaviour, they should make this a mandatory in every setting and organisations should encourage teachers to do this. I'm not sure however if this is in place or not in relation to policies.

When watching the videos attached to the PowerPoint, the classroom management that Mr Hester uses on a daily basis seems very effective and is helping his students to manage their behaviour positively and I'm hopeful they will use this strategies in everyday life situations when they leave education.

Dannii

….Alternatively, a child with lower intellect may behave in quite a shy manner, they may feel disengaged from learning as they do not understand the conversations being had around them, but also be too afraid to ask in fear of the 'more intellectual' kids putting judgment on them.

I agree with Charlie, the social awareness of a child's own abilities will either push them towards learning or push them away. As a teacher we need to strengthen and work closely with children who have low self esteem and to remain patient with them too.

Dannii

I strongly agree that kids need structure and this structure starts in the home with the parents or carers. Speaking from a personally perspective and not to blown my own trumpet but iv always been every focus on my children's education since the moment they was born and therefore now I am witnessing the fruit of that seed that was planted long ago as my children are thriving at school and are in top tables for everything, with my own personal example it's easy to see why parental engagement in schools needs to be implemented more heavily in educational settings. And also by parents laying these foundations from an early age will help the teacher to continute with this structure and will lead to positive outcomes for the child.

Dannii
