Emia is a extremely talented song writer and multi instrumentalist. I have been working with Emia in a band since September of 2022 in our band Rottweiler. she is a wonderful art as well as musician with a portfolio of gig posters for local Brighton gigs.

Lennon is a confident sound tech and wonderful guitar player working in many different projects as well as being in werebears house band. Lennon has been working as a sound tech over the past few months after shadowing Lewis in multiple different gigs

We have decided that we will want to use this opportunity to have high quality videos and pictures from the gig for our bands social media. We have a couple connections to some photographers that we have worked with previously Emia and i plan too meet and look through their portfolios. We also plan to hire a videographer we worked with on or first ever gig.

finding a way to work this into our budget will be a struggle, even though this would look amazing for us we also do need to pay for the venue alongside paying for acts.

In my group we are planning a headline show with my band Rottweiler. we are putting this on at the prince albert around November/ December time. we have two bands supporting us, Ahsoka and TASH. tickets will be £4.00 online and £6.00 on the door we plan to have props and gore to stand out onstage.

To promote this we plan to use short form content on tik tok asking the general public questions related to coming to the gig as well as posters around Brighton.

As I have been struggling to get contact with our choice A (prince albert), I decided to contact a promotor we have worked with before and asked him how he contacts venues, he offered to message him as they have a closer relationship. we also did get reminded that we are already playing a gig in late November the prince albert so we may have to go back to the drawing board.

After a lot of back a fourth between what venue we were going to get for our gig i finally was able to get through to pipeline and book a date.

The date that we have officially gotten is the 22nd of November at the pipeline. Bellow I have included communication between myself and the venue. with this out of the way we are now able to work on staging, lighting, confirm with other bands an official date etc.

Emia suggested the band Sypha as they are a local band and we have heard great things about them. after asking unfortunately they're not available for the 22nd so we are having another meeting in week 5 to try decide who we will have.

We aim to put of a headline show at the pipeline on the 22nd of November to help fund an ep by selling 80% of available tickets either online or otd.

we are solving this issue by keeping our eye out of new bands in the scene who have maybe started WaterBear or worse case scenario someone we have played with before. The reason I say worse case is because at the start of this we spoke about wanting to work with people we haven't before to try and reach out too new audiences to sell as many tickets as possible.

When Emia came too us with this poster something we pointed out was the coloring of the star in the left corner as it green but nothing else on the poster is. After we pointed this out we can to the conclusion that we really like the pink and green colour combo but thought that it looked out of place. To solve this Emia is adding more green to the poster. if this still doesn't look right Emia said she will change the colour.

As the pipeline is a free venue we don't have to worry about this as part of of our budget or what we would use the WaterBear grant for..

From doing our own social media campaign over the summer for our single release we found that the slideshow format gets more traction on our posts than video format. As well as all this Emia and i have chosen to carry on promoting the videos under Brighton hashtags as it creates a smaller audience to target in specific scenes rather than a mass group. I have included some of our analytics in a link above alongside out timeline of promotion.

we have been trying to branch out in promotion so i also created a folder of videos from me researching popluar trends we can incorporate into our own content.

We could have gone 2 routes with what we want the event too look like. One route is to go really gothic and gloomy like a Victorian castle, or we could go down the classic birthday party as it is our first gig. But I decided on emo birthday party.

The overall vibe of this is emo birthday party so we have decided on black and green balloons and party streamers as it is cheaper and easier for us to get hold of. Emia ordered these off amazon as she is the project manager.

to summaries my band members project we filmed a 4 song set that is going to be released on our YouTube channel. This was a professional setting at south lanes studios in Brighton and was filed by two videographers that willow used to live with.

Having this footage actually helped Emia and i as it meant we were teasing something new coming not just our gig so people don't get too tired hearing us talk about our headline.

we let willow take over with posts that were teasing her event and not the headline.

We arrived at 6:00 sharp ready to set up the gig. Immediately Lennon set up ready for the other bands to show up for sound check, Emia and I got on with setting up merch and decorating, as you'll remember me saying Emia and I bought decorations for the venue as its our first headline, unfortunately we did run into issues with this. The venue was too dusty on the surfaces and walls for us to stick down balloons and streamers. We didn't want to risk pinning these to the walls as it would cause damage to the venue but we also didn't want to risk things falling down and becoming a trip hazard for the crowd and other bands. In the end we had to pop all the balloons we stuck up and go no decor style.

While I was doing this Emia set up a merch table with new merch exclusive for our headline gig, this did cause another issue as we didn't announce we had this on social media which was a planned post i had included in our timeline, we didn't do this because of a lack of communication between Emia and I.

Next time we are doing something like Emia and in will make sure we communicate more so we can stick to social media campaigns we make.

Considering this was the only issue we ran into we have been severely lucky. The rest of the night ran so smoothly with all the bands showing up and delivering amazing sets.

Emia and I asked places in town around central Brighton and asked businesses before we put them up to check that we had there consent to advertise. I also postered in Brighton electric as I know music lovers who are looking for gigs to go to will likely be there. Also meaning we are going after our target audience.

from the general research I did I found that successful marketing campaigns include the following

• Connect with audience

• See what competitors are doing

• Eye catching

• Find target audience

Keeping all of this in mind i have been looking at our social media stats i will focus or campaign on 18-24 year old's in Brighton as this is our target audience for the gig.

Even though we get more traction on our Tik Tok we feel as if focusing our marketing on Instagram and using tags such as "Brightonmusicscene/ Newckrockmusic/ Brighton" it will get to people who are interested in these things.

Congratulations have a large following on Instagram and as we are focused on using Instagram more than any other platform for our campaign i thought it would be smartest to just follow what they did on the same platform.

congratulations seem to have followed a clear brand for their single release 'junk'.

This branding was also the same as when they announced their tour during the same period of time.

As a consumer their use of primary colour jumpsuits stand out as something that is unique to them. they created short form content and almost soft launched this brand along side their single and tour.

When you scroll to this era on their Instagram it seems that is was well thought out with their audience in mind bringing a chaotic childlike joy that's in their music into a visual form.
