The feedback I got was very useful to me. I also feel more connected with my colleagues. We are now a part of a unit, a research team with common goals and shared ideas. I think we can take feedback easier from one another now and recognize each other as valuable assets. We each have something to offer and instead of creating a negative atmosphere for us in an already competitive world of academia and Ph.D. programs, we have come together. Having the opportunity to hear what everyone is working on promoted not only our sense of being a knowledge community, but also strengthened our individual understandings of one another's work which is vital to a generative knowledge community. The facility was perfect for our purpose. I felt energized and motivated to press on in my own work as I heard my colleagues share their successes and challenges. From interacting with the group, strolling the grounds, and enjoying the grub :) to grappling with the writing process, I felt intellectually, spiritually, and physically fed.
