I felt very supported by Dr. Craig and my colleagues at the writing retreat we had in November, 2018. The feedback I got was very useful to me. I also feel more connected with my colleagues. We are now a part of a unit, a research team with common goals and shared ideas. I think we can take feedback easier from one another now and recognize each other as valuable assets. We each have something to offer and instead of creating a negative atmosphere for us in an already competitive world of academia and Ph.D. programs, we have come together. I am very grateful for the team of scholars I work with and for Dr. Craig who brings us together and specifically provided this peaceful, loving atmosphere to contemplate, write and discuss writing with colleagues in.

The venue of the retreat--a quiet place with various indoor and outdoor spaces away from our usual university setting--enhanced my ability to "shut off the world" and to be "present" in my own writing endeavors and in responding to the writing of others. Having the opportunity to hear what everyone is working on promoted not only our sense of being a knowledge community, but also strengthened our individual understandings of one another's work which is vital to a generative knowledge community. The good work going on from everyone in the group is truly impressive and inspiring.

Peaceful progress are the first words that come to mind. The facility was perfect for our purpose. I felt energized and motivated to press on in my own work as I heard my colleagues share their successes and challenges. From interacting with the group, strolling the grounds, and enjoying the grub :) to grappling with the writing process, I felt intellectually, spiritually, and physically fed. I'm very thankful to Dr. Craig for creating the opportunity for this experience. Diana Wandix-White
